It's long been a truism in the video game industry that console manufacturers would come out with new models every five years or so. But five years into the current generation, there are no signs of a next-gen.
Google is said to be seriously interested in buying e-commerce site Groupon, or has already bought it depending on who you believe. Groupon is already making money on its own--but it may want to sell because it can't keep that up indefinitely.
Online spending grows nearly 16 percent year over year, with social-networking sites and mobile devices playing an increasingly important role.
Here are some tips to keep shoppers safe from scammers and from the malware hiding on retail sites and fake sites created for distributing viruses and Trojans.
It seems pretty clear that Chrome OS Netbooks won't be available in 2010. Is this something the tech industry still wants?
Two major efforts are under way to bring 3D graphics to the Web: Flash and WebGL. It's not clear which, if either, will prevail--but Microsoft holds the swing vote.
