After hiring 4,500 people in 2010, Google wants to hire well over 6,000 people across the board as it gears up for 2011.
Or to put it another way: if activists using Twitter go on to topple a government, the real story should be that the government got toppled, not that the revolution was tweeted.
The company didn't want to comment on persistent reports that Twitter.com is inaccessible amid anti-government protests. Perhaps it was still in the dark about what's happening.
