Skeptics who predicted that Apple's smartphone would never catch on in Japan will have to swallow a bitter pill: Apple now holds more than 12 percent market share.

MetroPCS now has nine LTE 4G markets, but still only one 4G-enabled phone.

With a Verizon iPhone, Apple will see only around 2.5 million iPhones added to the total number sold next year, predicts Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster.

With each capturing 38 percent of mobile ad impressions on Millennial Media's ad network, the two are tied at No. 1 among all smartphone operating systems.
The E7 smartphone, which is expected to be the company's next "flagship" model, has been delayed. The device was previously planned for a release this month.
