The best megazoom?
It's faster, with better features than a typical megazoom, but the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ100 can't escape that category's curse of middling-to-serviceable photo quality. You can get much better results if you're willing to shoot and process the raw files, however.

Call them bridge cameras, longzooms, superzooms, or megazooms (as we do), they're all pretty much the same thing: a large lens slapped on the front of a point-and-shoot camera. While that's a bit of an oversimplification, the fact remains that though these are full-featured models with digital SLR-style bodies, their photo quality and shooting performance are still those of a compact camera. However, some are definitely better than others.
