A number of iCal and MobileMe users are noticing an issue in which alarms set a week in advance result in iCal giving a "403 Forbidden" error.

Even though the root account is "disabled" by default in OS X, you will still see many system processes running under this account when you open Activity Monitor, which might be confusing to some people.

Our utilities update report is a list of updates for Mac troubleshooting utilities that have been released in the past week. For once in a long time there have been no updates to maintenance-related utilities, but luckily others have stepped up in their place.

With more than half of new Mac purchases going to those new to Apple, one app developer has taken the challenge of teaching the novices.
Users should by default not be able to rename the supplied directories in OS X home folders, but if they are renamed, then odd application and system behavior may result.
