An executive from the largest U.S. wireless operator is skeptical about Microsoft's chances of becoming the "third" major player in the mobile OS wars, even with its latest partnership with Nokia. Publishers can set the price and length of subscriptions. Payment processing will be handled by Apple, which will get 30 percent of the revenue for new subscribers. Executives of parent company Deutsche Telekom say the company will enable mobile payments with NFC chip-equipped phones in some countries this year, and in the U.S. next year.
