Apple has released the latest update to its iLife '11 suite of applications including Garageband, iPhoto (previously updated), and iMovie, now versions 6.0.1, 9.1.1, and 9.0.1 respectively.

Sometimes devices in OS X may not load properly at boot, which can be a problem either with the driver being used or with the configuration of the system's caches.

Sometimes the special burn folder the Finder creates to manage optical discs will not disappear when the disc is burned or ejected, resulting in an accumulation of them in the sidebar over time.

Apple is rumored to be preparing for a spring release of Final Cut Studio 4, the latest version of its professional video-editing suite of applications for Macs.
Our utilities update report is a list of updates for Mac troubleshooting utilities that have been released in the past week, including tools for files and the filesystem, maintenance of OS X, and monitoring of Mac system components.
