Maxwell Technologies will use the money to develop a long-lasting portable energy storage device for soldiers to charge and manage electronics in the field.

BPG Motors comes to CES to show off a prototype of an electric scooter that looks like a motorcycle but folds up into a Segway-like machine for nimble maneuvering.

Cellulosic ethanol, which has been much slower in coming than hoped, gets a pathway to market in India through a deal with U.S.-based Qteros.
Freescale Watt Saver technology cuts vampire power to zero for cell phone chargers which draw a trickle of electricity even when the phone is unplugged.
