Carrier will offer two new smartphones in the coming months: the HTC HD7S and the LG Thrill 4G, which will feature glasses-free 3D game play and 3D video and photo shooting.

Comparing so-called 4G performance among phones from AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon, RootMetrics finds Verizon's LTE Thunderbolt to be fastest and most reliable.

Facing regulatory scrutiny, AT&T argues that buying T-Mobile USA will bring next-gen mobile networks to more Americans and help make the United States more competitive.
