As Apple makes the iPad's internals more laptop-like, a longstanding issue seems to get more pronounced.

The chipmaker finalizes its $7.68 billion purchase of McAfee, which will continue to offer products under its own brand in a combined effort to expand security across a wide range of devices.

Better Flash support, stability, and improved hardware acceleration come in Firefox 4 beta 12 from Mozilla. The end is nigh, too: This could be the last beta for the in-development browser.

Upgrading the Motorola Xoom to 4G is a convoluted process. A couple of teardowns expose the root cause for the headache-inducing process.
Intel's new data-transfer technology is launched first in Apple's updated MacBook Pro. Also: there will be no public plan for succession at Apple.
