Newly redesign forums and upcoming Ask the Editors Live chat

Dear CNET members,

Happy Saturday! Just checking in with you to let you know I'm still alive! I hope this newsletter finds everyone well. I still have a few things to work out behind the scenes, so today's newsletter is just a few announcements. It will not include the standard format of the Help and How-to newsletter, which I promise, will resume this coming Friday.

First up, mark your calendars. We will be hosting another Ask the Editors Live chat event on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at 9:30 a.m. PT/12:30 p.m. ET with CNET Editor/mobile guru Kent German on the topic of the future of U.S. cell phone carriers. If you didn't hear already, AT&T just recently rocked the wireless world last month when it announced a bid to acquire T-Mobile. If approved, the deal would create the nation's largest carrier, but what would it mean for consumers? And what would happen if it doesn't go through? Could T-Mobile survive? Join us for the live event here and get your questions ready for Kent.

As you know, I've been absent for the past few weeks. But doing what, you ask? Well, I've been busy with my team getting the newly redesigned forums and new features up and running! And if you haven't visited the CNET forums in the last week, I'd go check it out now. A week ago we went out with our newly designed forums and many exciting features, such as helpfulness ratings, like votes, and different post types, to name a few.

And now that we have everything in place, take a look around. You can be brave and do your own exploration, or you can click here to read about all the new forum features and redesign. Be sure to let all the changes soak in, and if you want to give the forums a test run, please go ahead and post in the Test forum here. This way you can explore all the options without causing any chaos in other forums. If you have any questions, feedback good or bad, and bugs to report, please submit them in this discussion thread. Thank you for your continued support! I will talk to you all next week. Have a great weekend!

Cheers!
- Lee
